Upon arriving at our 17th-century Tuscan farmhouse, you quickly store your luggage in your apartment, and then head down to join the others around the pool. Someone offers you a glass of delicious local chianti, and you kick your shoes off so you can dangle your feet in the cool water.
You quickly get lost in conversation with one of the others in the group… but neither of your can take your eyes off of the show unfolding before you. As the sun slowly slides behind the hills and vineyards that spread out before you, Mother Nature begins painting her daily masterpiece called “Sunset”, as the ever-changing sky glows magnificent pinks, reds, oranges and yellows, and the landscape takes on a purple hue.
Just as the magic of the sunset begins to fade, you catch a wiff of delicious scents wafting out of the kitchen window… garlic, basil, sausage… mmmm, yes please! Your mouth starts to water, and you quickly head towards the dining hall to see what amazing meal our two chefs have prepared for the group this evening. Right THEN, you realize how happy you are that you leaned into this very special travel experience!

Day trip to Abbey of San Galgano (pictured above) – Susie will have her camera at the ready for anyone wanting to participate in a photo session in and around the abbey… stunning backdrop for photography.
Possible horseback riding or hot air ballooning.

Visit to olive oil farm with tasting
Back to villa for time with Ivan and Anne. Ivan will address the group to talk about his journey, and to talk about food as medicine, etc.
Draw teams for tonight’s Iron Chef competition
Visit to local market to obtain ingredients for tonight’s contest
Let the games begin! Teams will prep, cook, plate and serve the judges! Sadly this is departure day… headed to Rome airport by 8:00 a.m.
You will be dropped off at the Rome airport by 12:00 p.m. If you want to schedule flights home today, please ensure they leave after 3:00pm.
Otherwise, you might want to get a hotel or B&B and have a look around Rome and the Vatican for a few days. This extension would be on your own.
Another consideration would be to spend a few days making your way up to Lauterbrunnen Valley in Switzerland, and joining Periquito Adventures for another amazing trip!
